The Human Function

The second book published, but the first one I actually wrote. I have great memories of long nights with a bottle of wine writing this while living aboard a boat in Southwest DC. (Hello, Reckless Abandon.) This was where I channeled my inner Ernest Hemingway to follow in his footsteps.

It was written in 2003, well before Siri and Alexa and Hey Google and the proliferation of the semi-smart voice recognition personalities that we know and love (and hate) today. But what if one person – one singular individual – invented a personality that was really good? One that had personality and character? One that seemed like a friend?

How would society respond? How would corporations respond? How would YOU respond?

Write drunk, edit sober.
